We are supporting a global organisation seeking 2 Engineering Managers
6 months contract – 40 hours per week – £105 Inside IR35 per hour, £840 Inside IR35 per day - 2 days per week in the Manchester office for meetings
About the Role
We're looking for an Engineering Manager to lead a multidisciplinary team within Connected Trip Search, part of our Marketplace Business Unit. You'll help build customer-facing conversational and search experiences that make it easier for travellers to find the trips they're looking for.
You'll manage engineers across Android, iOS, backend, and full-stack, while bringing strong hands-on Android expertise to guide technical decisions, unblock the team, and contribute directly when needed.

What You'll Do
- Lead, coach, and grow a team of 5–8 engineers, balancing delivery with long-term technical health
- Provide Android technical leadership — architecture, code review, and troubleshooting support
- Own delivery planning, risk management, and stakeholder communication
- Champion quality, performance, and reliability across the team's products
- Support incident response and drive continuous improvement through data and experimentation
- Build a psychologically safe, high-performing team culture

What You'll Need
- 5+ years' hands-on software engineering experience, including shipping Android apps
- Experience managing or coaching engineering teams
- Strong knowledge of Kotlin, Jetpack, Compose/Views, and modern Android architecture
- Solid grasp of CI/CD, testing, release management, and production debugging
- Excellent communication skills and a pragmatic, collaborative approach
