Summary
This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience across production, engineering, and technical support functions. You will support the wider team with the maintenance, monitoring, and improvement of production processes, equipment, and quality standards. You will gain broad exposure to plastic manufacturing operations.
Wage: £17,472 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age. National Minimum Wage rate for apprentices.
Training course: Engineering and manufacturing support technician (level 3)
Hours: At company 7.30am- 4.30pm Monday - Thursday. 1.30pm finish on Fridays. College hours will differ. 42 hours a week

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
- Assist with monitoring production processes to ensure output meet quality, cost, and delivery targets
- Carry out routine inspections, testing, and basic troubleshooting under supervision
- Support continuous improvement activities, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
- Assist with the set-up and changeover of production equipment
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance, production, and quality data
- Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures at all times
- Work collaboratively with production, quality, and engineering colleagues

Training

Training course: Engineering and manufacturing support technician (level 3)

Training schedule
This is a Level 3 Engineering and Manufacturing Support apprenticeship, delivered over a 42-month period. The apprentice will attend the training centre, In-Comm Training Services in Aldridge WS9 8UG, 2.5 days a week for the first 14 months. Please ensure you are able to travel to this address as well as to the company address.

Essential qualifications
- GCSE in: English and Maths (grade 4)
- Science (grade 4)
Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.
