Engineering Officer
As an Engineering Officer, you will be responsible for the safe operation, maintenance, and repair of propulsion and auxiliary machinery, together with all onboard technical systems. You'll play a key role in ensuring the continued reliability, efficiency, and safety of our vessels.
Key responsibilities include:
- Operating and maintaining propulsion and auxiliary machinery.
- Maintaining all onboard technical systems and equipment.
- Overseeing maintenance of galley and passenger service equipment.
- Carrying out fabric maintenance within machinery spaces.
- Receiving and managing fuel oil and lubricating oil bunkers.
- Supporting deck crews with the operation of hydraulic equipment associated with vessel loading operations.
- Assisting with fault diagnosis and rectification across a wide range of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- You will also occasionally be required to provide relief cover for the Chief Engineer during periods of leave.

About You
- A valid ENG1 Medical Certificate.
- A minimum STCW95 EOOW Certificate.
- Recent seagoing engineering experience.
- A strong working knowledge of medium-speed diesel engines and associated electro-hydraulic systems.
- Experience diagnosing and rectifying faults in propulsion systems and other vessel machinery.
- Good working knowledge of computer-based maintenance and operational systems.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A proactive, safety-focused approach with strong problem-solving abilities.
Working Pattern
- This position is based on a 41-hour working week, operating on a 4-on, 4-off shift rota within a 22-hour-a-day, 7-day-a-week operation.
- As onboard accommodation is not available, applicants must live within a reasonable commuting distance of our Southampton terminals.
