Engineering Operations Manager
Location: London
Salary: Up to £75,000 + Package
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm
Boden Group are working with a leading Facilities Management company to recruit an Engineering Operations Manager for a prestigious, technically complex site in London.
This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong engineering background who enjoys leading people, solving technical challenges and taking ownership of engineering operations within a critical environment.
The Role:
- Lead, manage and develop an established engineering team of approximately 20, including shift engineers and technical specialists.
- Oversee daily engineering operations, PPMs, reactive maintenance, fault finding and technical problem-solving.
- Manage critical M&E infrastructure, including HV/LV distribution, UPS systems, chillers and associated plant.
- Coordinate switching schedules, planned shutdowns and safe systems of work.
- Manage specialist contractors, ensuring quality, compliance and effective follow-up.
- Support engineering budgets, asset management, performance KPIs and continuous improvement.
- Build strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and the wider engineering team.

What We're Looking For:
- Strong technical engineering background, ideally electrically biased, although mechanical engineers with good electrical knowledge will be considered.
- Experience within critical environments, data centres, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing or similarly complex settings.
- Proven experience managing and developing engineering teams.
- Good understanding of power distribution, cooling systems and fault diagnosis.
- Relevant engineering qualifications, ideally HNC/HND or equivalent.
- AP experience is desirable, although training can be provided.
- Strong communication skills, a proactive approach and confidence dealing with clients and contractors.

The Opportunity:

You'll be joining an established engineering operation with plenty of technical variety, real responsibility and the opportunity to develop further within a major FM contract.

Monday to Friday, with occasional out-of-hours escalation and planned shutdown requirements.
