Engineering Operations is the operational engine of the Consumer group. We build the automations, tracking and metrics that keep teams aligned and informed, so engineers can spend their time building. Our goal is to reduce manual work, improve visibility into engineering activity, and turn repeatable processes into reliable software. We work closely with engineers, engineering managers and teams across the business to identify friction and turn feedback and operational data into scalable solutions.
The opportunity
- Help engineering teams execute faster by owning the processes and tooling that remove friction
- Use AI and automation in your day to day work to solve real problems for the teams you support
- Administer Jira and Confluence including configuration, workflows, permissions and automations
- Own the triage and intake process so work reaches engineering properly routed and to standard
- Keep roadmaps healthy and run weekly delivery reporting to leadership
- Own the quality of engineering metrics data including team definitions, ownership records and tool configuration

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
