The Role
As an Engineering Operative, you’ll support the Engineering Team in delivering responsive, high-quality technical support across all harvest operations. Your focus will be on minimising downtime, maintaining reliability, and ensuring production targets and SLAs are consistently met - especially during peak season.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Maintain, repair, and fault-find on harvesting and processing machinery to keep operations running efficiently.
- Respond quickly to breakdowns, working with the Engineering Team Leader to prioritise work and minimise downtime.
- Carry out all work safely and to a high engineering standard, following company procedures and best practice.
- Identify and implement improvements to machinery reliability, safety, and operational efficiency.
- Support engineering projects, including fabrication, modifications, and seasonal readiness work.
- Manage tools, spares, and parts to ensure ongoing operational readiness.
- Share knowledge, develop skills, and support colleagues within the engineering team.
- Provide technical support to third-party or off-site operations when required.

Working Hours
- Peak summer harvest: Approx. 60 hours per week, 12-hour shifts (6am–6pm), Sunday–Thursday or Tuesday–Saturday
- Winter season: Up to 55 hours per week
