Key Experience and Qualifications
Essential:
- Recognised apprenticeship, NVQ3 or equivalent electrical qualification
- ONC or equivalent
- Experience in a multi-disciplined industrial engineering function
- Basic PLC capabilities and network configuration expertise
Desirable:
- Experience of working within an FMCG environment
- HNC or equivalent
- Experience working with Allen-Bradley PLC’s
- IEE 17th Edition
- Awareness of work within explosive dust areas
- Knowledge of CMMS systems, preferably SAP
Primary Purpose and Function of Position
Reporting to the Reliability Manager within the brewing department, the role of an Electrical Technician is a multi-skilled position. The main purpose of this position is to carry out planned and reactive maintenance in support of a continuous brewing production plant including cover for all utilities areas if required. The role is vital for the efficiency, quality and cost of the plant. An Electrical Technician will look to improve the reliability, safety of the plant and production processes.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Working for the Brewing department, you will work in a team consisting of multi-skilled Technicians. You will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance support across utilities equipment such as raw material processing which will involve ATEX area and EX areas, Fluid transfer via pump and conveyor, tightly controlled closed loop systems including level, pressure and flow.

Accountabilities
Duties include:
- Electrical maintenance, including:
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance as laid out in schedule
- PLC controlled systems - Allen Bradley PLC.
- Fault finding, single and three phase supplies
- Machinery fault diagnosis and repairs
- Instrument calibration and functionality checks
- In-depth knowledge of Loop control and instrumentation devices
- 17th edition qualification
- Use of Plant Optimisation tools to ensure sustainability of high departmental standards, Hygiene and PDCA
- Undertake, drive and support maintenance and improvement activities
- Share best practice across shifts with respect to maintenance and CIL
- Review and develop safety and maintenance procedures (SWI)
- Record all maintenance activities within maintenance management system (SAP)
- Liaise with suppliers of OEM’s for the provision of spares/services
- Maintenance prioritisation and planning
- Support the development and maintenance of a high performance, flexible and “can do” culture
- Analyse machines to improve performance
- Identify critical spares for designated machines
- Refurbish spares as required
- Complete some work at heights, confined space & as a lone worker
- Project work
- Carry out quality inspections on jobs
- Liaise with & assist client departments and customers
- Control maintenance tools, stores and equipment
- Monitor and control maintenance costs as part of the maintenance team
- Write, review & update maintenance SOP’s, OPL’s & job tasks.
- Work in a safe manner following all company policies and procedures
- Ensure all safety systems are in working order
