Role Overview
We're looking for a Technical Team Lead to join our Engineering Platforms & Practice group, leading the strategy, design, and delivery of next-generation software delivery platforms used across a global engineering organisation. This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you'll combine engineering excellence, platform thinking, and people leadership to create secure, scalable, and frictionless developer experiences. You'll guide a high-performing team building reusable CI/CD capabilities, automation tooling, and software supply chain controls that help thousands of engineers deliver software safely and efficiently.

What You'll Be Doing
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers delivering critical DevSecOps and platform capabilities
- Define technical strategy and architectural direction for CI/CD and automation platforms
- Build secure, reusable CI/CD components that drive consistency, governance, and compliance across the software development lifecycle
- Design solutions that enhance software supply chain security, provenance, and auditability
- Integrate with engineering tooling ecosystems to automate workflows and improve developer productivity
- Work directly with engineering teams and stakeholders to understand challenges and drive adoption
- Create enablement content, training, workshops, and best practices to support platform adoption
- Use data and feedback to continuously improve platform performance, reliability, and user experience
- Champion modern engineering practices, automation, and continuous improvement across the organisation

What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a Technical Lead, Staff Engineer, Principal Engineer, Platform Engineer, or Senior DevOps Engineer
- Java / JVM technologies
- TypeScript
- Deep understanding of modern DevOps principles, including:
- CI/CD
- Reliability engineering
- SLI/SLO management
- Error budgets
- GitHub Actions
- Infrastructure as Code and platform automation
- Ansible or equivalent tooling
- Experience designing and operating cloud-native platforms
- Strong knowledge of Kubernetes and GCP
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills

Nice to Have
- Experience with TeamCity, Jenkins, ArgoCD, Tekton, or similar orchestration platforms
- Knowledge of software supply chain security and frameworks such as SLSA
- Understanding of SBOM generation, provenance, and compliance controls
- Experience coaching, mentoring, and developing engineering talent
- Experience building internal developer platforms or engineering enablement capabilities
