Job Title: Programme Manager – Through Life Support

Location: Rugeley

Salary: Competitive + Benefits

We are looking for an experienced Programme Manager to lead a portfolio of series production and in-service support programmes, ensuring equipment is delivered, maintained, and supported throughout its lifecycle. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role within a growing defence engineering business supporting critical maritime and defence capability.

The Role

As a Programme Manager, you will take ownership of a portfolio of production and support programmes, ensuring safe, predictable, and profitable delivery from manufacture through commissioning, upgrades, and long-term customer support.

Working across Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Commercial, Finance, Quality, and the PMO, you will lead programme delivery, manage customer relationships, and drive continuous improvement while developing a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Through Life Support portfolio to achieve revenue, margin, cash flow, delivery, and customer performance objectives.
  • Manage series production programmes, ensuring manufacturing, supply chain, and testing activities meet contractual commitments.
  • Deliver through-life support activities including spares, repairs, maintenance, commissioning, upgrades, field service, and life extension programmes.
  • Develop accurate programme forecasts covering cost, schedule, cash flow, risks, and opportunities.
  • Manage programme governance including planning, baselines, change control, risk management, and reporting.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships, acting as the senior interface throughout programme delivery.
  • Support business growth through bid leadership, proposal development, and identification of follow-on opportunities.
  • Drive improvements in on-time delivery, quality, customer satisfaction, and operational performance.
  • Lead, coach, and develop Project Managers, Coordinators, and Field Service personnel, building capability and succession plans across the team.
  • Work collaboratively with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Commercial, and PMO functions to ensure successful programme delivery.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
