If yes, we have the perfect role for you!

Our Highways and Transportation Service is looking for a passionate and dedicated Engineering Project Manager to join our amazing team and help make a difference today.

About The Role

As an Engineering Project Manager, you will lead the delivery of a diverse programme of highways capital projects, managing schemes from inception to completion. You will oversee feasibility studies, community engagement, preliminary design development, approvals, project governance, and financial management to ensure successful project outcomes.

Working across a portfolio of projects valued up to £5 million, you will collaborate with internal teams, consultants, contractors, stakeholders, and elected members to deliver high-quality infrastructure improvements that support the council's strategic objectives and benefit local communities.

About You

We are looking for an experienced and motivated professional who can successfully manage multiple projects while building strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. You will be a confident communicator, a proactive problem solver, and committed to delivering excellent outcomes.

You Will Have

  • Strong financial and budget management skills, including monitoring expenditure and managing funding requirements.
  • Experience leading project development, feasibility work, design coordination, and procurement activities.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and consultation skills, with the ability to work effectively with communities, partners, and elected members.
  • Experience preparing reports, committee papers, business cases, and presentations for senior leaders.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a large and varied workload.
  • Knowledge of project governance, risk management, and quality assurance processes.
  • The ability to lead, motivate, and coordinate staff, consultants, and commissioned resources.
  • A commitment to collaborative working and continuous improvement.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
