If you’re an experienced engineer who enjoys taking projects from initial planning through to installation, commissioning and handover, this could be a really interesting next move.
moira” recruitment is working with a well-established manufacturing business in the Scottish Borders to recruit an experienced Project Supervisor.
This isn’t simply a maintenance role. You’ll be responsible for planning, coordinating and delivering engineering and maintenance projects across a busy operational manufacturing site, working with contractors, engineering teams and other departments to make sure everything is delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
What will you be doing?
- Planning, scheduling and coordinating engineering projects
- Managing contractors and third parties on site
- Reviewing contractor RAMS
- Managing Permit to Work, Hot Work, Confined Space and Lock-Out/Tag-Out processes
- Coordinating work around live plant and operational requirements
- Monitoring project progress and keeping key people updated
- Identifying issues and finding practical solutions
- Maintaining accurate project records and documentation
- Working closely with maintenance, production and other departments
- Making sure health, safety and environmental standards are maintained throughout

What are we looking for?
You could come from either a mechanical or electrical background and may currently be working as a Project Engineer, Mechanical or Electrical Project Engineer, Engineering Supervisor, Maintenance Supervisor or Engineering Team Leader.
Ideally, you’ll have:
- HNC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, a time-served apprenticeship or equivalent qualification
- A strong mechanical or electrical engineering background
- Experience delivering engineering or maintenance projects within manufacturing, process, heavy industry or another complex industrial environment
- Experience managing contractors and engineering work on site
- Good knowledge of RAMS, Permit to Work, isolations/LOTO and safe systems of work
- Strong planning and problem-solving skills
- A practical, hands-on approach and the confidence to take ownership of projects

Monday to Friday | 37.5 hours per week | Permanent
