Location: Kara Foodservice, Manchester

Shift: Wednesday to Saturday - days – 7am-7pm

Salary: Competitive

We have an exciting opportunity for a PPM Engineer to join our Engineering Team as part of the Finsbury Food Group.

About the Role:

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic, fast-paced manufacturing environment where safety, quality, reliability and continuous improvement are at the heart of everything we do.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for delivering a proactive planned preventative maintenance programme across site assets, helping to reduce the likelihood of equipment failure, minimise unexpected downtime and extend the useful life of machinery.
  • Working closely with the Reliability Manager, Engineering Scheduler, and Engineering team, you’ll ensure planned maintenance activities are scheduled effectively around production requirements and planned site shutdowns.
  • Continuously develop your knowledge and understanding of the engineering requirements of bakery process systems and machinery, ensuring maintenance activities are completed to the required standards and within agreed schedules.
  • Work as an active part of a skilled cross-functional planned maintenance team, supporting the reliability and efficiency of site equipment.
  • Ensure that Health & Safety, Food Safety and Hygiene standards are adhered to at all times and that good working practices are maintained throughout your work.
  • Actively participate in the site’s Continuous Improvement culture, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Support the site Excellence Programme and contribute to cross-functional objectives where required.
  • Have the opportunity to work on various projects, including the installation and modification of plant and equipment.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Good communication skills.
  • A thorough and detailed approach to maintenance work.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Knowledge of plant maintenance work.
  • Mechanical Engineering qualifications and relevant experience essential.
  • Apprentice-trained would be desirable.
  • Machining skills or experience would be advantageous.
  • IPAF trained would be desirable.
  • FMCG experience would be advantageous.
  • Good PC skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent timekeeping and attendance.
  • Flexible approach to work.
  • Committed to maintaining high Health & Safety, Food Safety and Hygiene standards.
