We’re expanding our team at the John Lewis Partnership! As the Hiring Manager for our Avonmouth Regional Distribution Site, I’m excited to announce that we are hiring for permanent roles to play a pivotal role in driving high standards, safety, and operational excellence as we work toward full site readiness by Q4 2026.
We are actively recruiting for:
Engineering Section Manager
The Role:
- Lead, coach, and develop our engineering technicians and tradesmen
- Oversee PPM activities
- Support budgetary control
- Build strong relationships with specialist contractors

Key Requirements:
- Extensive retail/distribution maintenance experience
- Strong leadership skills
- NEBOSH certification (or equivalent)
- Time-served Electrician (or HVAC equivalent)
- Comprehensive knowledge of site safety (Legionella, LOLER, PUWER, Fire Safety)
Two Skilled Maintenance Technicians
The Role:
- Execute site maintenance plans
- Deliver PPM and reactive tasks (SFG20 standards)
- Conduct compliance audits
- Evaluate in-house vs. contractor delivery
Key Requirements:
- Distribution/warehouse maintenance experience
- Time-served Electrician (or HVAC equivalent)
- Solid understanding of site safety regulations
- CAFM system knowledge
