Engineering Supervisor

Location: Kent
Salary: £65,000
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, Days
Benefits: Excellent benefits package

About the Role

We are looking for an Engineering Supervisor to join a busy manufacturing operation in Kent leading a small and skilled engineering team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to take the next step in their engineering career, as well as someone who is currently working in a supervisory or team leadership position and is looking for a new challenge.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the engineering department, ensuring equipment is maintained safely, efficiently and reliably, while also playing an active role in longer-term engineering projects, CAPEX, budgets and continuous improvement.

The role offers the opportunity to take ownership of a broad range of engineering responsibilities while remaining close to the hands-on operation and developing the team around you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support a team of five engineers, providing day-to-day direction, guidance and coaching while taking ownership of the engineering and maintenance activities across the site.
  • Ensure planned and reactive maintenance is completed safely and effectively, prioritising work according to production requirements and responding to breakdowns when required.
  • Work closely with Production and other departments to minimise downtime and improve equipment reliability, while maintaining high standards of health and safety, engineering compliance and housekeeping.
  • Be involved in the wider engineering function, including CAPEX projects, engineering budgets, expenditure, contractors, maintenance costs and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identify and implement improvements across the site, manage external contractors and suppliers where required, and contribute to the longer-term engineering strategy.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

We're looking for someone who is ambitious, hands-on and keen to take ownership, with the ability to lead a team while also getting involved in the wider engineering function. You should have a strong engineering or maintenance background, ideally within a manufacturing or production environment, with good mechanical and electrical knowledge and the ability to troubleshoot and solve problems effectively.

You don't necessarily need to have done every part of the role before. Attitude, leadership potential and a desire to progress are just as important as your previous job title. The ideal person will be someone who enjoys working as part of a team, is confident making decisions and wants to develop their career while taking responsibility for the day-to-day running and longer-term development of the engineering department.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an engineer or existing team leader who wants to step up, take ownership and broaden their experience across leadership, CAPEX, budgets and the wider engineering function.
