Arbor Forest Products – New Holland, North Lincolnshire

Salary: £45,000 – £47,000 per annum, depending on experience

Hours: 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday – rotating shifts: 6:00am–2:00pm and 2:00pm–10:00pm

About Arbor Forest Products

Arbor Forest Products is a leading timber importer and processor based in New Holland, North Lincolnshire. We are looking for an experienced Engineering Supervisor to join our team and lead our maintenance engineering function across two fast-paced production environments.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineering professional who enjoys combining hands-on technical work with team leadership and wants to make a real impact on engineering standards, reliability and production performance.

The Role

As Engineering Supervisor, you will lead a team of skilled maintenance engineers working on a rotating shift pattern. You will be responsible for coordinating maintenance activities while also providing hands-on electrical and mechanical engineering support.

You will work closely with Production Managers and Supervisors to plan maintenance activity, respond to breakdowns and ensure planned maintenance is completed effectively, helping to minimise production downtime.

The successful candidate will be confident leading a team, troubleshooting engineering issues and driving improvements in standards and team culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise and support a team of maintenance engineers.
  • Prioritise and coordinate fault diagnosis and rectification work.
  • Provide hands-on electrical and mechanical maintenance support.
  • Respond to breakdowns and assist with planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
  • Work closely with Production Managers and Supervisors to plan maintenance activities.
  • Ensure maintenance work is completed safely, efficiently and within agreed timescales.
  • Minimise production downtime through effective fault diagnosis, planning and preventative maintenance.
  • Prepare method statements and risk assessments and ensure they are followed.
  • Promote and maintain high standards of health and safety across the engineering function.
  • Support the development and implementation of a comprehensive PPM programme.
  • Manage engineering tools and spare-parts inventory.
  • Use the CMMS effectively to record, monitor and manage maintenance activities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve engineering standards, reliability and team performance.
  • Support and encourage a positive, proactive and improvement-focused team culture.
  • Undertake occasional out-of-hours and weekend work when required.
  • Follow company policies and procedures relating to health and safety and the correct use and care of equipment and materials.
  • Undertake other reasonable duties as requested by the Line Manager.

About You

We are looking for an experienced engineering professional with proven supervisory experience and strong technical knowledge.

You Will Ideally Have

  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements.
  • Experience using a CMMS or computerised maintenance management system.
  • Multi-skilled engineering experience, with an electrical bias.
  • Experience with PLC diagnostics and fault finding.
  • A proven engineering background, supported by a completed time-served apprenticeship or HNC/HND in an engineering discipline.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate or IOSH qualification.
  • Experience of planned preventative maintenance and breakdown response.
  • The ability to identify opportunities for improvement and raise engineering standards.
  • The ability to positively influence team culture and encourage high standards of performance and safety.
