About the Role

We are seeking a proactive Engineering Surveyor to lead surveying, setting out, and dimensional verification activities across a range of engineering and construction projects. Reporting to the Senior Project Engineer, you will ensure works are delivered in line with design specifications, project requirements, and quality standards. Working closely with Engineering, Construction, Quality, and Project Delivery teams, you will provide surveying expertise across civil, structural, and mechanical works.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing survey activities
- Carrying out setting out and as-built surveys
- Maintaining control networks and coordinate systems
- Analyzing survey data
- Resolving dimensional discrepancies
- Producing accurate technical documentation
- Supporting installation planning
- Conducting constructability reviews
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives
You will help deliver projects safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards of accuracy and quality.
Location: Hinkley Point, Bridgewater
Work Rotation: 10 days on, 4 days off
What You’ll Do
- Lead dimensional control, surveying, and geometric verification activities across a range of complex engineering projects.
- Carry out and oversee surveys for civil construction works, including foundations, concrete structures, steelwork, and associated infrastructure.
- Perform dimensional verification and alignment surveys for mechanical installations such as pipework, modules, supports, and mechanical systems.
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, BIM models, and survey data to provide accurate setting out and dimensional control solutions.
- Manage project coordinate systems, ensuring survey control is accurately transferred, verified, and maintained across project sites.
- Analyze survey and point cloud data to identify deviations, clashes, and potential non-conformances before they impact delivery.
- Produce detailed survey reports, dimensional assessments, and quality documentation to support project compliance and handover requirements.
- Utilize specialist surveying equipment to carry out high-precision measurement and verification activities.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Construction, Quality, and Project teams to ensure dimensional requirements are understood and achieved.
- Support constructability reviews and installation planning by providing technical surveying expertise throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitor dimensional control performance, report findings, and recommend corrective actions where required.
- Drive a proactive approach to dimensional assurance, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and best practice across the business.

Skills & Experience
- Degree, HND/HNC, or equivalent qualification in Surveying, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Professionally accredited by a relevant body such as AssocRICS or MRICS status.
- Proven experience in a Dimensional Control, Engineering Surveying, or Geomatics role within construction, infrastructure, industrial, or energy projects.
- Strong knowledge of dimensional control principles, geometric verification, and construction surveying methodologies.
- Experience undertaking surveys for civil construction works, including foundations, concrete structures, steelwork, and associated infrastructure.
- Experience carrying out dimensional verification and alignment surveys for mechanical installations, including pipework, modules, supports, and mechanical equipment.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, BIM models, and survey data to provide accurate setting out and dimensional control solutions.
- Experience managing project coordinate systems and survey control networks.
- Strong understanding of construction tolerances, installation accuracy requirements, and quality assurance processes.
- Ability to analyze survey data, point clouds, and dimensional reports to identify deviations, clashes, and non-conformances.
- Experience producing detailed survey reports, dimensional assessments, and technical documentation.
