Engineering Team Leader
π Location: Ruskington
π Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off 2 days/2 nights
We're looking for an experienced Engineering Team Leader to join our maintenance team and play a key role in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and continuous improvement of our manufacturing operations.
Reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager, you'll lead a team of mechanical, electrical, multi-skilled, and semi-skilled engineers while ensuring equipment performance, workplace safety, and engineering standards are maintained at the highest level.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on engineer with supervisory experience who enjoys leading people, solving problems, and driving operational excellence in a busy food manufacturing environment.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading and supporting a team of engineers to deliver maintenance activities safely and efficiently
- Coordinating planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and recording all labour and parts through SAP
- Diagnosing and resolving mechanical and electrical faults to minimise downtime
- Prioritising and allocating workloads in the absence of the Maintenance Manager
- Supporting the training, coaching, and development of engineering and operational teams
- Working closely with production teams to improve equipment performance and reliability
- Managing contractors and visiting engineers to ensure projects and improvements deliver expected results
- Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety, COSHH, food safety, quality, and environmental requirements
- Maintaining accurate engineering documentation and records
- Promoting 5S standards and good housekeeping across the engineering function
- Monitoring utilities and supporting initiatives to reduce waste and improve efficiency

What We're Looking For
β Time-served engineering qualification with at least 4 years' industrial experience

β Strong mechanical and/or electrical fault-finding skills
β Previous supervisory or team leadership experience
β Experience working within a manufacturing or food production environment
β Ability to prioritise workload and make effective decisions under pressure
β Excellent problem-solving and organisational skills
β IT literate with experience using maintenance management systems
β Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Desirable
- Experience within poultry or food processing operations
- Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
- Experience coaching and mentoring engineers and operators
- Continuous improvement mindset
