Engineering Team Manager

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly driven candidate to join our Highways Asset Management team at Calderdale Council.

Role Overview

We are seeking to recruit an Engineering Team Manager to provide high-level expert advice and management to the Highways team in support of all aspects of Highways Asset Management. You will lead, direct, and manage the team in ensuring statutory and corporate objectives are delivered and ensuring compliance with requirements as set out in Well-managed Highway Infrastructure: A Code of Practice (2016). You will be integral to ensuring the continued successful operation, maintenance, and forward planning of the Councils roads, footways, street lighting, and public rights of way. You will be responsible for collecting and maintaining condition data for all adopted Highway assets.

You will be responsible for the Councils asset management system and ensuring all data is valid and current.

Responsibilities

• Lead, direct, and manage the team in ensuring statutory and corporate objectives are delivered.
• Ensure compliance with requirements as set out in Well-managed Highway Infrastructure: A Code of Practice (2016).
• Ensure the continued successful operation, maintenance, and forward planning of the Councils roads, footways, street lighting, and public rights of way.
• Collect and maintain condition data for all adopted Highway assets.
• Responsible for the Councils asset management system and ensuring all data is valid and current.
• Confident in communicating with stakeholders at all levels including multi-agency partners, Councillors (Parish, District and County), MPs, utility companies, public transport providers, senior managers, and members of the public.
• Excellent communication skills required to communicate effectively with these stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
