About the Role

Reporting to the Equipment Supervisor this role is required to support the maintenance and upkeep of Semiconductor processing reactors and associated equipment. This role focuses on equipment reliability and efficiency through preventative maintenance and repairs.

Main Responsibilities

The Engineering Technician will be required to:

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance, fault finding and corrective maintenance on epitaxial deposition systems and associated reactor support equipment, ensuring high levels of equipment availability and reliability.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, vacuum, pneumatic and process equipment faults, minimising downtime and supporting production requirements.
  • Perform equipment integrity checks, including leak testing of vacuum chambers and pressurised gas lines, in accordance with approved procedures and safety requirements.
  • Maintain, repair and refurbish reactor components and support assemblies, ensuring parts are maintained to the required quality standard and readily available when needed.
  • Follow the equipment maintenance and competency management process, completing required training, assessments, maintenance activities and authorisations within agreed timescales.
  • Develop a strong understanding of semiconductor equipment, chemicals, gases and safe working practices, ensuring all maintenance activities meet health, safety, quality and environmental requirements.
  • Work closely with Production, Engineering and Safety teams to resolve equipment issues, identify improvement opportunities and improve equipment reliability and maintenance processes.
  • Actively contribute to the site’s Health & Safety programme and Emergency Response Team (ERT), identifying hazards and providing feedback on opportunities to improve the working environment.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment history and documentation, ensuring work is completed in accordance with procedures and relevant standards.
  • Undertake other reasonable duties as required to support the effective operation of the manufacturing facility.

About You

  • HNC in an engineering discipline
  • Experience working in semiconductor, manufacturing, or an engineering environment is desirable
  • Computer Literacy: Experience using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Able to follow detailed instructions to completion.
  • Has a clear commitment to health and safety protocols, and a proactive mentality to ensure the safety of others.
  • Has a commitment to quality.
  • Has a willingness to learn and develop.
  • Has particular attention to detail.
  • Has technical analytical skills.
