Job Title: Engineering Technician
Location: Leeds
Job Length: Permanent
Working Hours: 36.5 hrs a week, 12-hour shift which includes: 6am - 6pm, 6pm - 6am

Carlsberg Britvic is the largest multi-beverage supplier in the UK and is home to some of the most iconic and popular beers & soft drinks, including Carlsberg Danish Pilsner, 1664, Poretti and Brooklyn to ale favourites such as Hobgoblin and Wainwright. For soft drinks, Carlsberg Britvic’s brands include J2O, Robinsons, Tango and London Essence along with the licence rights to the Pepsi portfolio in the UK including Pepsi MAX, 7UP, Lipton Iced Tea and Rockstar Energy.
With a strong national footprint, the Carlsberg Britvic business includes 5 production facilities and 16 logistics depot’s servicing customers up and down the UK. As these two historical businesses have come together, the one common goal remains, and that is ensuring our people succeed.
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Carlsberg Britvic. This role is crucial in ensuring maximum equipment availability and reliability through effective maintenance practices. Working on an annualized shift pattern, you will be responsible for maintaining production equipment, site utilities, and services while ensuring maximum equipment availability and reliability through effective maintenance practices. The ideal candidate will have solid technical skills with an electrical bias and a commitment to safety and quality standards.

Role Responsibilities
- Respond to machine breakdowns promptly and implement effective repairs to minimize downtime while ensuring all work complies with engineering and safety legislation.
- Execute planned preventative maintenance activities according to the site maintenance plan, working collaboratively with the engineering planner to optimize maintenance programs.
- Lead zero loss teams to reduce utilities usage and improve equipment reliability through root cause analysis and problem-solving activities.
- Manage contractors and issue permits in accordance with site procedures, including reviewing risk assessments and method statements.
- Maintain and optimize site utilities and services to ensure legal compliance, maximum uptime, and environmental performance.
- Support operations teams by identifying changeover improvements and providing technical support for Autonomous Maintenance activities.
- Develop and implement 5S improvement plans for the engineering department while maintaining high quality, safety, health, and environmental standards.
Experience and Key Attributes
- HNC in an Engineering discipline is required, alongside a minimum BTEC/NVQ Level 3 qualification in a relevant Engineering discipline.
- Demonstrated engineering and maintenance experience within a manufacturing or operational environment.
- Broad multi-skilled engineering background with an electrical bias, with the ability to diagnose machine breakdowns, identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
- Demonstrable experience in maintenance delivery, fault finding and Root Cause Analysis (RCA), ensuring actions are completed within required timescales.
- Experience working within continuous improvement programmes and contributing to improvements in equipment reliability and performance.
- Good understanding of site utilities, services and engineering systems.
- Experience developing operating principles and changeover procedures, with the ability to train and support operators.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across engineering, production and other cross-functional teams.
- Additional maintenance engineering or relevant technical certifications.
