The Opportunity:
We encourage anyone interested in a career in engineering or looking to develop their skills within the automation field to apply for this amazing opportunity as an Automation Technician / Mechatronics Operator. Experience or an HNC, or higher, in any of the following areas will be considered:

  • An ability to read Mechanical Engineering drawings and design modelling fixtures a must
  • Proficient in CNC Milling, CAM an advantage
  • Knowledge of automation systems desirable

In this developmental role you will:

  • Create, verify and release robot programs for automated cells
  • Read and create CAD drawings for modelling and tooling fixtures
  • Provide critical help chain for manufacturing to reduce downtime of critical manufacturing equipment
  • Creating supporting documentation for automated equipment
  • Support implementation of new advanced manufacturing equipment and automation

Preferred Skills:

  • Minimum of a HNC or equivalent in an Engineering discipline
  • Good understanding of tooling, fixture design using CAD and manufacturing processes
  • Proficient in CAD with the ability to read engineering drawings

This is a development role where training will be provided. But any experience, in any of the following areas, would be beneficial and show the transferable skills required to develop in the role:

  • Robot programming experience
  • CMM Programming / metrology
  • CNC Milling experience with a desire to move into automation/robotics

Pay and Benefits:

  • Salary dependent on experience, between £31,502.01 to £40,710.28 per annum (will be increased shortly in line with annual pay review by in the region of 4%)
  • 37.5 hours per week, working a Swing Shift weekly rotation (6am-2pm/2pm-10pm), which attracts an additional shift premium of 12.5% of your basic salary.
