Engineering Technician and Trainer

Location: RAF Brize Norton

Salary: £34,588 plus excellent benefits

Schedule: Full time, Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week

Ready to impact a better future?

As an Engineering Technician and Trainer at RAF Brize Norton, you will make a real and visible impact on day-to-day operations by ensuring vital aviation equipment is maintained, ready, and fit for purpose. Your contribution helps support operational effectiveness and the systems that are critical to mission delivery and ongoing airworthiness.

In this role, you’ll balance hands-on technical delivery with knowledge sharing, helping to maintain high standards across calibration, altimeter maintenance, and specialist training. It’s a role with real purpose, where precision, trust, and care come together to create a positive impact on operational capability.

What you’ll do as an engineering technician and trainer

You’ll be entrusted to:

  • Control, test, and calibrate MOD test equipment in line with MOD Air publications and approved Manual of Military Air systems
  • Maintain, service, and manage altimeters, ensuring accurate records and full compliance with airworthiness requirements
  • Deliver Precision Termination Tooling (PTT) and Electrical Wiring Interconnect Systems (EWIS) training and presentations as required
  • Act as a focal point of expertise for EWIS training, supporting customers and colleagues with clear, accurate guidance
  • Support across the Altimeter Bay and EWIS areas during periods of absence to ensure business continuity
  • Ensure all work is correctly certified, recorded, and retained to meet statutory, quality, and audit requirements

Does this sound like you?

You’ll be a great fit for this role if you have:

  • An engineering or aviation qualification such as BTEC, ONC, NVQ Level 3, or military equivalent
  • Relevant experience within the aviation industry, with a strong understanding of air safety and airworthiness
  • The ability to remain current and competent in risk management, human factors, and error management
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to deliver training and technical briefings

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
