Engineering Technician – 6-Month Fixed-Term Contract

Location: Wiltshire | Onsite

The Position

The Engineering Technician will provide hands-on support across equipment maintenance, testing, repairs, and engineering development within a pilot production environment.

Responsibilities

  • Repair, modify, and maintain production equipment and simple mechanical presses.
  • Fault-find equipment and identify causes of failure.
  • Carry out product, component, and reliability testing.
  • Support equipment commissioning and qualification.
  • Maintain instruments and mechanical test equipment.
  • Support engineers and scientists with testing, experiments, and development activities.
  • Assist with equipment trials and design improvements.
  • Support cGMP compliance and maintain accurate technical records.

Education, Experience & Skills

  • Engineering degree or BTEC/HNC/HND in Mechanical or Electronic Engineering.
  • Experience with mechanical assembly or production equipment.
  • Basic understanding of electronics and electrical products.
  • Hands-on soldering and SMD rework experience.
  • Experience fault-finding and repairing production equipment or scientific instruments.
  • Experience in product testing and failure analysis.
  • Practical experience operating and maintaining mechanical test equipment.
  • Scientific instrumentation experience is desirable.
  • Good documentation skills and attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated, independent, and computer literate.
