Your mission
Native is an independent design and innovation studio based in Shoreditch, where we've been developing physical and digital products for over twenty years. We work across early-stage concepts, functional prototypes, and technically ambitious R&D - translating ideas into things that actually exist in the world.
We're not currently hiring for a specific graduate role, but we're keen to connect with talented people who are starting out and want to build a career doing genuinely interesting work. If you have a background in design engineering, mechanical or electronic engineering, mechatronics, or software and technology development, we'd welcome a conversation.
As a junior member of the team, you'd be embedded in a multidisciplinary environment - contributing to concept development, prototyping, and testing, working under the guidance of senior engineers and designers, and growing your skills across a range of projects and clients.
Your profile
We're interested in people who are curious, hands-on, and keen to develop across disciplines. You might bring some of the following:
- A foundation in design engineering, mechanical engineering, electronics, mechatronics, or a related technical field.
- An interest in software or technology development, whether that's firmware, embedded systems, application development, or something broader.
- Some exposure to CAD, prototyping, PCB design, or development tools - through coursework, projects, or personal work.
- The ability to communicate clearly, work collaboratively, and ask good questions.
- An appetite for working in a fast-moving, creative R&D environment where no two projects are the same.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Why us?

Joining us as a graduate means being part of a small, senior team where your contribution is visible and your development is taken seriously.
The work is varied - spanning physical product development, electronics, software, and emerging technology - and the studio culture reflects that breadth. We're based in Shoreditch, well connected and surrounded by a strong design and technology community.
