Purpose of the Role

The purpose of the role is to:

  • Facilitate alignment between financial cost cap reporting requirements and efficient operation of business processes, ensuring accurate records are in place to support the FIA Financial Regulations
  • Maximise accuracy of financial records to enable robust reporting on financial status and be best placed to answer inventory questions from the FIA Cost Cap Administration
  • Enable full financial visibility of hardware completion and costing status
  • Champion the adherence to the financial regulations in relation to hardware movements and inventory records
  • Ensure maximum business process efficiency in relation to financial regulations whilst maintaining flexibility in our processes

  • Data analytics and conversion to actionable business insight
  • Communication; clear, concise, confident, happy to speak up and challenge
  • Remaining calm under pressure
  • Simplifying complexity – understanding the fine detail and being able to take a step back to translate that message to others
  • Making rational decisions based on available information (even when incomplete), taking appropriate action, prioritising under pressure and understanding when to escalate
  • Facilitating group discussions, managing and preventing conflict

Have experience of:

  • Large scale business data analysis
  • Influencing across departments in order to achieve business requirements
  • Working in an equally fast paced/demanding environment (desirable)
  • Excel, SAP, Team Centre and PLC or other data management software

Demonstrate knowledge of:

  • Process analysis methodologies
  • Stakeholder management techniques
  • Status tool reporting development

Hold these qualifications:

  • GCSE Grade 4 or above / Level 2 functional skills in Maths, Science & English
  • Strong A-Levels in Analytics, Business systems / Information Technology, Maths or other relevant disciplines
  • A minimum of a 2:1 in a relevant Degree subject: Analytics, Business systems / Information Technology, Maths or other relevant disciplines

  • Maximise data clarity in ERP systems to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Identify and analyse obsolete inventory risks
  • Ensure alignment of system records with the latest programme declarations
  • Be the Subject Matter Expert for application of the F1 financial regulations on inventory declarations
  • Provide accurate costing information and analysis on F1 hardware throughout their life cycles to facilitate budget status clarity
  • Compile, monitor and report on budget adherence for the designated business area
  • Ensure good maintenance of data held within SAP and other dependant systems to ensure accuracy of financial reporting, including items such as accurate Bill of Material costing and hardware being directly attributable
  • Work with Finance and other Cost Analysts to ensure consistency of approach and methodologies, aligning processes and standardising practices
  • Demonstrate close alignment with the overall financial reporting processes and stakeholders
  • Be able to highlight hardware budget risks based on regulation changes and analyse potential options for mitigation
