What will this role achieve?

As the Engineering Trainer, you will be fully responsible for the delivering of high-quality Engineering Training, supporting the recruitment and onboarding of site Engineering Apprentices, and guiding their development throughout the programme.

What will be your key deliverables?

  • To maintain the comprehensive Training matrix covering all Engineering capability requirements
  • Design and deliver Train the trainer programmes to build internal capability
  • Facilitate the bi-annual training days to deliver compliance and engineering training
  • Deliver high-quality technical training on:
    • Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM’s)
    • Machine size changes
    • Guard removal and refitting
    • General lubrication procedures
    • Machine adjustments, set-up, and parts replacement
  • Create, amend, verify, and maintain DSOP’s (Dynamic Standard Operating Procedures) for all training areas, ensuring all DSOP’s are accurate, compliant, and aligned with site Engineering standards
  • Conduct competency assessments and sign-off engineers/apprentices once training is completed
  • Carry out assessments as part of the ATM Recruitment process
  • Complete annual training gap analysis and develop targeted training plans to address capability gaps.
  • Support the recruitment, onboarding, and management of Engineering Apprentices
  • Guide and support apprentices through their learning journey, ensuring progress against the apprenticeship framework.
  • Use SFOL (or equivalent systems) to create KPI’s and dashboards that measure training effectiveness and completion rates.
  • Provide regular reporting on training, progress, competency development, and compliance levels.

Essential

  • Experience with training-based programmes in the engineering field
  • Identifying skills gaps and providing solutions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with facilitating training-based needs
  • A background in engineering training
