The Vacancy
The Role
We are looking for an experienced Engineering Trainer with a strong background in Mechanical Maintenance and Assembly to join our team at the Advanced Manufacturing Training Centre (AMTC) in Coventry.
This is an exciting opportunity to inspire and develop apprentices by delivering engaging practical and theoretical training across Level 2, Level 3 and HNC programmes. You will play a key role in helping learners achieve apprenticeship standards while supporting their personal and professional development.
Whether you already hold a teaching qualification or are an experienced engineer looking to move into education, we would love to hear from you. Full support and funding will be provided to gain a recognised teaching qualification if required.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality training in Mechanical Maintenance and Assembly subjects.
- Support apprenticeship and HNC learners to achieve programme outcomes and successful completion of their qualifications.
- Create and develop engaging learning content, schemes of work and teaching resources.
- Manage training environments, equipment and learning resources effectively.
- Monitor learner progress and provide regular coaching, feedback and support.
- Promote a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment.
- Embed industry best practice and emerging technologies into training delivery.
- Support the development of learners' professional and employability skills.
About You
You will be passionate about developing people and helping learners achieve their full potential. You will bring significant industrial engineering experience together with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Essential Requirements
- Industry-related qualification such as:
- Level 3 Apprenticeship
- HNC/HND
- Engineering Degree
- GCSE Grade 4/C (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
- Strong engineering knowledge gained through industrial experience.
- Experience within Mechanical Maintenance, Assembly, Fluid Power, Mechatronic Systems or related engineering disciplines.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel when required.

Desirable Requirements
- Teaching or training qualification.
- Assessor qualification (CAVA or equivalent).
- Internal Quality Assurance qualification.
- Experience delivering apprenticeship training or education programmes.
