Production Improvement Engineer
As a Production Improvement Engineer, you will have a practical role in improving manufacturing performance. Working closely with the factory floor and management, you will identify issues affecting production, investigate their causes, and help drive improvement and corrective actions through to completion.
You will support the development and standardisation of manufacturing processes, maintain clear process documentation and Standard Operating Instructions (SOIs), and help ensure measuring and monitoring equipment is appropriately controlled and calibrated.
This role suits someone who enjoys understanding how processes work, asking constructive questions, solving problems, and turning opportunities for improvement into practical changes.
The position is based onsite five days per week and works within the local business unit.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing efficiency, productivity, process yield, workflow, and waste reduction.
- Investigate recurring production issues and factory-floor feedback, identify root causes, and coordinate corrective and preventive actions through to completion.
- Support new product introductions by establishing production processes, assessing production readiness, and developing the required process documentation and training.
- Create, maintain, and update Standard Operating Instructions, procedures, and other controlled production documentation, including relevant SharePoint content.
- Work with production, engineering, management, and support teams to identify process constraints, manufacturing risks, material or drawing issues, and improvement priorities.
- Analyse production information and performance trends to identify risks, recurring issues, and opportunities for improvement.
- Identify tooling, machinery, and equipment requirements and support the evaluation and justification of appropriate solutions.
- Coordinate the identification, calibration, maintenance, and documentation of relevant measuring, monitoring, and production equipment.
- Support production planning and improvement activities that contribute to efficient workflow and on-time delivery.
- Develop and deliver training on relevant processes, procedures, SOIs, and technical topics.

QUALIFICATIONS
Must-Have
- Relevant experience in a manufacturing environment, with practical exposure to continuous improvement, process improvement, production engineering, or a comparable discipline.
- Demonstrated experience identifying process inefficiencies, investigating production problems, and supporting or implementing practical improvements.
- Experience developing or maintaining procedures, work instructions, Standard Operating Instructions, or comparable process documentation.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical capability, with the ability to investigate issues, identify root causes, and follow actions through to completion.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to work effectively with production teams, management, and other stakeholders.
- Good IT literacy and the ability to work with systems used to maintain production and process documentation.
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, operations, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other structured continuous-improvement tools and techniques; Green Belt or Black Belt certification would be advantageous.
- Experience supporting production planning, equipment calibration/control, quality-management processes, or new product introduction.
