English-Mandarin Technical Interpreter
An opportunity to join an international company supporting the commissioning phase of a major construction project in Scotland. Working directly with Mandarin-speaking engineers from international equipment manufacturers and the UK project team, ensuring clear communication throughout the commissioning process.
Location: Inverness, Scotland (Site-based)
Contract: 12 months
Role Description:
The Resolute Group are supporting an international company who are expanding their operations in Scotland and are now looking for an English-Mandarin Technical Interpreter to support the commissioning phase of a major construction project.
As the project moves into commissioning, engineers from a number of international equipment manufacturers will be travelling from China to the UK to support the commissioning activities on site.
Some of these engineers speak primarily Mandarin, so there is a requirement for an experienced interpreter who can bridge the communication between the Mandarin-speaking engineering teams and the UK project team.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
