Description

Job purpose

We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic English Language Teacher to deliver high-quality English language teaching to junior and adult students from a wide range of international backgrounds. You will teach individuals and groups, both face-to-face and online, following agreed syllabuses and using appropriate course materials, while adapting your approach to meet the needs of different learners.

You will deliver a variety of course types, including General English, specialist and exam preparation programmes, ensuring that course objectives are met and that teaching standards align with those set by the Academic Management Team. You will work collaboratively with colleagues to support student welfare, safeguarding and quality assurance processes, including assessment, feedback and academic record-keeping. We are looking for a reflective practitioner who values continuous professional development, responds positively to feedback and takes pride in representing the values of the organisation.

Through your professionalism, enthusiasm and commitment to high standards, you will play an important role in ensuring an excellent learning experience for our students and contributing positively to the academic and cultural life of the school.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Teaching & Learning

  • Prepare and deliver lessons in line with the course syllabus, adapting and supplementing materials as necessary to meet individual learner needs.
  • Teach adult and junior classes, both face-to-face and online.
  • Deliver a range of course types, including (but not limited to) General English, Business English, exam preparation, English for Care, and English Plus programmes, ensuring course objectives are met and standards set by the Academic Management Team (AMT) are maintained.
  • Use classroom and digital technologies effectively to enhance the learning experience.
  • Encourage active student participation through a positive, enthusiastic and learner-focused approach.
  • Manage student behaviour effectively, applying agreed classroom expectations consistently and seeking support from the AMT where appropriate.
  • Remain sensitive to the expectations of students from different cultural backgrounds while encouraging independent, critical and reflective learning.
  • Create and maintain a supportive, inclusive and motivating classroom environment.
  • Teach demonstration lessons for agents and/or prospective students, as agreed with the AMT.

Assessment, Feedback & Academic Support

  • Monitor, assess and record students’ ongoing progress through testing, assessment and tutorials.
  • Write schemes of work using course descriptors and mark assessments in line with agreed marking criteria and deadlines.
  • Provide timely, constructive oral and written feedback to students and relevant stakeholders (e.g. Director of Studies), as required.
  • Provide academic support through tutorials and consultations, demonstrating a willingness to offer additional guidance outside scheduled class time where appropriate.
  • Conduct placement testing for new students and contribute to student induction processes.
  • Deliver online testing when required, including occasional sessions outside normal working hours (by prior agreement with the AMT).

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
