Location: Oldham

Position: Secondary Teacher of English (ECTs & Experienced Teachers)

Start Date: September 2026

Salary: £150-£202 per day DOE

Cover People are recruiting on behalf of a highly regarded secondary school in Oldham for an enthusiastic and motivated Teacher of English to join their team from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for both Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced teachers looking to develop their careers within a supportive, ambitious and high-performing school environment.

About The Role

  • Teach English Language and English Literature across Key Stages 3 and 4, with Key Stage 5 opportunities available for suitable candidates
  • Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons that inspire students and promote academic success
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all learners can flourish
  • Assess, monitor and support student progress through effective feedback and intervention
  • Work collaboratively within the English department to share best practice and raise standards
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through enrichment activities and extracurricular opportunities

About You

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or due to achieve QTS by September 2026
  • A degree in English or a related subject
  • Passionate about inspiring young people through English
  • Confident teaching English across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Strong classroom presence and effective behaviour management
  • Committed to continuous professional development and contributing to school life
