English Teacher — Teach in Japan 2027
TEFL UK is recruiting English teachers for Interac, Japan's largest private provider of Assistant Language Teachers (ALTs). This is a salaried, visa-sponsored role teaching in Japanese state schools on a 12-month contract, with no limit on how many times you can renew.
No Japanese needed. No teaching experience needed. No placement fees.
This is a placement role. Successful applicants will live and work in Japan.
What's included
- Salary of ¥2.4–3 million a year (approx. £13,000–£16,500), paid in 12 equal monthly instalments, so you're paid through the school holidays
- Full Instructor Visa sponsorship, with visa costs reimbursed
- An apartment found for you by Interac, close to your schools (you pay the rent, typically around ¥53,000 a month)
- Up to USD $1,200 towards your flights
- Enrolment in Japan's national health insurance
- Monthly commuting costs reimbursed
- No application or placement fees through TEFL UK

Requirements
- A full bachelor's degree in any subject from an accredited university. Diplomas, HNDs, and foundation degrees aren't accepted for the visa.
- Native-level English: born and schooled in a recognised English-speaking country, or 12+ years of education entirely in English
- Able to complete a full contract year
- A TEFL certificate strengthens your application but isn't required. Interac provides training before you start.
