English Teacher - Long-Term Supply

Moore Teachers is currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic English Teacher for a long-term supply position at a thriving secondary school in Borehamwood. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified teacher to join a supportive school environment and make a meaningful impact on students' progress and attainment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, fostering a love of literature and language while maintaining high expectations for achievement and behaviour.

Duties As An English Teacher

  • Plan and deliver engaging English lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Teach English Language and Literature across secondary year groups
  • Assess, monitor, and support student progress
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies
  • Prepare students for internal and external assessments
  • Work collaboratively with the English department and wider staff team
  • Attend relevant meetings and contribute to school life where required
  • Uphold safeguarding and welfare responsibilities at all times

Ideal English Teacher

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching English within a secondary school setting
  • Strong subject knowledge of English Language and Literature
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Ability to motivate and inspire students of all abilities
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Flexible, professional, and reliable approach
