English Teacher – SEND School
Location: Huddersfield
Salary: Teacher Pay Scales
Contract: Full-time, permanent
Key Stage: KS3 & KS4
We are working with a brand-new specialist SEND school in the Huddersfield area that is looking for an enthusiastic and resilient English Teacher to join their growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a new school from the beginning, working with small groups of 4–6 pupils and supporting young people with SEND, additional needs, and challenging behaviours.
The Role
- Teaching English across KS3 and KS4
- Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons
- Supporting pupils with a range of SEND and challenging behaviours
- Creating a positive, structured, and inclusive learning environment
- Working closely with the wider school and pastoral teams
- Supporting pupils to make progress academically, socially, and emotionally

About You
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or currently completing an ECT programme
- Experience working with SEND pupils and/or challenging behaviour
- A confident, patient, and adaptable approach to teaching
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- Passionate about helping pupils achieve their potential

About the School
The school provides a specialist, nurturing environment with very small class sizes. Pupils are based in their own classroom, with teachers moving between classes to deliver different subjects. This allows staff to build strong relationships with pupils while providing a calm and structured learning environment.
