Life Sciences Linguist
This role is ideal for an experienced linguist specializing in regulated life sciences content.
You will translate critical clinical, pharmacovigilance, and regulatory documents from English into native Mexican Spanish.
Your work will directly support clinical research, patient-facing materials, drug safety, regulatory submissions, and product labeling.
You will also contribute through machine translation post-editing and detailed linguistic review to ensure accuracy, consistency, and appropriate tone.
The position requires strong attention to detail and the ability to deliver high-quality work within strict, non-extendable deadlines.
You will work within established technology-enabled workflows and client-specific CAT tool environments in a quality-focused setting.

Accountabilities
- Translate clinical research, pharmacovigilance, regulatory, and medical documents from English into Latin American Spanish, specifically native Mexican Spanish.
- Work across clinical documents such as protocols, synopses, Investigator’s Brochures, Informed Consent Forms, patient sheets, and patient diaries.
- Translate regulatory materials including SmPCs, PILs, labels, and CTD modules.
- Translate pharmacovigilance documentation such as PSURs, DSURs, Risk Management Plans, and SAE/AE content.
- Perform Machine Translation Post-Editing (MTPE) on machine-translated safety and life sciences content.
- Conduct copy editing and linguistic review to ensure accuracy, consistency, tone, terminology, and overall quality.
- Meet strict, non-extendable turnaround times for time-sensitive projects.
- Work within client CAT tool environments such as XTM or Phrase, with licenses provided where applicable.
- Use Microsoft Word Track Changes according to project-specific instructions and workflows.
- Complete a required assessment as part of the onboarding and quality assurance process.

Requirements
- Native-level Mexican Spanish (ESMX) language proficiency is required.
- At least two years of practical translation experience specifically covering life sciences, clinical trials, pharmacovigilance, and medical documentation.
- A degree in Translation, Linguistics, Language Studies, or an equivalent discipline; alternatively, a recognized graduate qualification in another field combined with at least two years of full-time professional translation experience.
- Candidates may also qualify through a minimum of five years of full-time professional translation experience.
- Familiarity with CAT tools such as XTM or Phrase.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word Track Changes.
- Strong understanding of terminology, accuracy, consistency, and quality requirements for regulated medical and life sciences content.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently against demanding deadlines.
- A degree in Medicine, Biology, Biochemistry, Clinical Research, Translation, Linguistics, Philology, or a related field is a plus.
- Previous in-house experience within a CRO or pharmaceutical organization is advantageous.
