What you need:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent tutoring/academic coaching experience across diverse age groups.
  • The ability to deliver engaging primary literacy lessons and deep subject expertise in English Language and English Literature up to A-Level specifications (e.g., AQA, OCR, Edexcel).
  • Experience tailoring your teaching style to suit both primary aged learners (fostering a love for reading, spelling, and grammar) and secondary/college students (focusing on essay structure, critical analysis, and high-tier exam techniques).
  • Understanding of primary SPAG (Spelling, Punctuation, and Grammar) and phonics frameworks, as well as secondary and A-Level set texts, poetry anthologies, and comparative essay requirements.
  • Right to Work: Valid right to work in the UK.
  • An enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or a willingness to obtain one for in-person sessions).
