About Restart Tuition

Restart Tuition is a confidence-first education provider based in Yeovil, Somerset. We deliver Maths and English tuition through small group and 1-to-1 sessions, in person and online. Every tutor on our team is a qualified teacher. Many are also GCSE examiners. That combination of classroom experience and examiner insight is what sets us apart, and what our learners and their families trust us to deliver. We hold a UK Registered Trademark and are approved on Somerset Council's Alternative Provision framework.

The Role

This is a zero-hours position, meaning sessions are offered as they arise and you are free to accept those that suit you. There is no minimum commitment on either side, making it a genuinely flexible opportunity for a qualified teacher who wants purposeful, well-structured work outside their main timetable.

Sessions take place at Yeovil Innovation Centre, at learner homes across Somerset, and online. You will need to be within commutable distance of Yeovil and willing to travel across the county as required.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

A significant part of our work involves alternative provision: EOTAS arrangements, EHCP-targeted support, looked-after children working toward PEP outcomes, and young people rebuilding confidence after difficult experiences in formal education. You will always have a full provision profile for each learner before sessions begin.

Who We Are Looking For

A qualified teacher with solid Maths and/or English experience. Someone with a genuine track record of helping students make meaningful progress, the emotional intelligence to meet a learner where they are, and the professional confidence to hold a session together when things are not straightforward. Experience as a GCSE examiner, or with alternative provision, EHCP, or home-educated learners, is highly valued though not essential. Enhanced DBS check required before commencement.
