Enterprise Applications Manager
A key leadership role within a growing EMEA technology function, shaping the systems that underpin a complex, fast-moving organisation. You’ll have real influence over the applications strategy, team and roadmap, with the chance to deliver meaningful business impact.
Role Overview:
- Location: Cheltenham or London – Hybrid
- Package: £100,000 p/a + performance-based bonus + comprehensive benefits
- Security Clearance: SC cleared or eligible (Sole British Nationality)
- Industry: Advanced Technology / Engineering
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Set and deliver the EMEA enterprise applications strategy, aligning technology investment with wider business priorities.
- Own the full application lifecycle, from selecting and implementing new platforms through to optimisation, upgrades and retirement.
- Lead the performance, availability and reliability of critical business systems, embedding effective support and incident management practices.
- Build and develop a high-performing Business Systems team, creating a collaborative environment focused on continuous improvement.
- Work closely with senior stakeholders, business teams, IT functions and third-party partners to deliver practical, value-focused solutions.
- Establish strong governance across the application estate, ensuring security, compliance and operational standards are consistently maintained.
- Assess the existing applications landscape and shape a forward-looking roadmap that supports long-term business and technology objectives.
- Manage competing priorities across a diverse EMEA environment, balancing strategic programmes with day-to-day operational needs.

Main Skills Needed:
- Strong senior-level experience in enterprise applications management or IT leadership.
- Broad understanding of enterprise technology ecosystems, including ERP, PLM, BI, SaaS, integration platforms, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, ServiceNow and Atlassian technologies.
- Proven people leadership experience, with the ability to build, coach and develop specialist teams.
- Confident stakeholder and vendor management skills, particularly within complex or matrixed organisations.
- Strong track record of delivering technology projects and translating business requirements into effective solutions.
- Excellent communication, organisation and analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience within manufacturing, engineering or production environments would be advantageous.
- Exposure to secure or classified environments would also be beneficial.
- Must be a UK national and able to obtain and maintain UK Government Security Clearance (SC), with potential for higher clearance.
