Enterprise Architect (Contract)
Midlands | Hybrid Working | 6-Month Initial Contract | Outside IR35 | Competitive Day Rate
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Enterprise Architect to join a market-leading engineering and manufacturing organisation undertaking a significant technology transformation programme.
Working closely with executive stakeholders, IT leadership and business teams, you'll play a key role in shaping the enterprise technology strategy, driving architecture governance and supporting the delivery of complex transformation initiatives across the organisation. This is a highly visible contract engagement, offering the opportunity to influence strategic technology decisions and help define the future-state architecture of a large and complex enterprise environment.
About the Opportunity
The organisation is investing heavily in modernising its technology landscape, with several large-scale programmes spanning ERP, digital transformation, cloud adoption, operational technology and enterprise integration. As Enterprise Architect, you will provide strategic leadership across architecture domains, ensuring technology investments align with long-term business objectives whilst supporting immediate transformation goals.

- Play a leading role in business-critical transformation programmes
- Work directly with executive stakeholders and senior leadership teams
- Influence enterprise-wide technology strategy and decision-making
- Operate within a complex, multi-domain architecture environment

Key Responsibilities
- Define and maintain enterprise architecture strategy, principles and standards
- Develop current-state and target-state architecture roadmaps
- Establish and oversee architecture governance frameworks and decision-making processes
- Align technology strategy with business objectives and future operating models
- Support major transformation initiatives across ERP, digital and operational technology programmes
- Lead architecture reviews and provide technical leadership across delivery teams
- Drive application rationalisation, integration strategy and platform modernisation
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend strategic investment opportunities
Requirements
- Proven experience operating as an Enterprise Architect within a complex organisation
- Strong track record of developing enterprise technology strategies and architecture roadmaps
- Experience implementing architecture governance frameworks, standards and best practices
- Broad knowledge across applications, cloud, infrastructure, data and integration architecture
- Strong stakeholder management skills with experience engaging executive-level leaders
- Experience supporting large-scale transformation and change programmes
- TOGAF or equivalent enterprise architecture certification preferred
