Enterprise Architect - Finance Sector

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking an Enterprise Architect to work for our client within the Finance sector. This is initially a 6-month contract with very good prospects to extend and will be a hybrid role based in London.

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect with strong Solution Design expertise to support the delivery of complex business and technology change initiatives.

This role will act as the bridge between enterprise strategy and project delivery, ensuring that solutions are aligned to architectural principles, business objectives, security standards, and technology roadmaps. The successful candidate will work closely with project teams, business stakeholders, delivery leads, and technical SMEs to shape, review, and govern solution designs across a range of programmes and projects.

The ideal candidate will be equally comfortable operating at a strategic level while providing hands-on guidance to delivery teams throughout the solution lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain enterprise architecture standards, principles, and target-state architectures.
  • Support project teams in the creation and review of solution designs and technical architectures.
  • Ensure solutions align with business strategy, enterprise standards, security requirements, and technology roadmaps.
  • Lead architecture reviews, design workshops, and governance forums.
  • Provide thought leadership on architecture best practices, emerging technologies, and modern design approaches.
  • Work with business and technical stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable and supportable solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify technology landscapes, reduce technical debt, and improve operational efficiency.
  • Develop architecture artefacts including:
    • Solution architecture documents
    • High and low-level designs
    • Integration architecture diagrams
    • Data flows and process models
    • Non-functional requirements
  • Support investment and programme planning by providing architectural assessments and recommendations.
  • Mentor solution architects, technical leads, and project teams on architecture methodologies and design principles.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
