Mattioli Woods Enterprise Architect
Mattioli Woods is seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to define the technical direction of a growing, acquisition-led wealth management group. This is a senior appointment with real strategic weight - you will own the target architecture for the Group, shape multi-million-pound platform decisions, and bring coherence to a technology landscape built across more than seven acquisitions.
This is not a governance or advisory role. We are looking for someone who combines architectural vision with the credibility to work alongside engineers, technology teams and strategic vendors to see decisions through to delivery. If you thrive on simplifying complexity, making consequential choices and building something that endures, we would welcome a conversation.
What we’re looking for:
- Proven experience as an Enterprise Architect in a complex, multi-system environment — ideally financial services
- Clear opinions (and the evidence to back them) on platform strategy, integration patterns and technology standardisation
- The ability to work at altitude - thinking in outcomes and principles, not just components
- Experience influencing technology decisions at board or ExCo level
- Proven experience leading meaningful architecture and simplification in a complex organisation, ideally one shaped by acquisitions
- The ability to combine long-term strategic direction with delivery credibility — equally comfortable setting a multi-year roadmap and getting into a platform or integration discussion when needed

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What you will be doing:
- Define the single target enterprise architecture for the Group and a practical roadmap to rationalise a technology landscape created through 7+ acquisitions
- Establish architectural patterns and integration standards that allow AI - including emerging agentic capabilities - to work safely with core systems, data and business workflows
- Shape major strategic technology decisions, including the future client portal, SIPP SaaS platform and the long-term future of core platforms such as Xplan
- You'll be the architectural authority across Tech, partnering with engineering, data and product teams to ensure we build coherently - and influencing senior stakeholders to make the right long-term bets.
- You'll own the single target architecture for Mattioli Woods - making the calls that determine how our platforms, systems and integrations evolve. That means working through complex questions: how do our core platforms (including investment, SIPP and client portal) relate to each other? How do we integrate acquisitions faster and more consistently? Where do our AI and data investments need to land?
