Protect the UK's Most Sensitive National Security Infrastructure
A public sector organisation is seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to join a critical national security programme supporting UK Government programmes.
This is a unique opportunity to shape the future architecture of highly secure government capabilities that protect sensitive information, facilities and operational activities from evolving technical threats.
Working within the Securing High Classification Areas (HCA) programme, you will provide strategic architectural leadership across technology, security, infrastructure and information domains, ensuring investments remain secure, resilient, interoperable and aligned with long-term national security objectives.
This is an initial 18-month contract based onsite in Milton Keynes, the daily rate is up to £645 per day via an Umbrella company (inside IR35). Due to the nature of the role the successful candidate will need to either hold active DV clearance or be willing to undergo DV vetting. I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
