Warner Hotels - Enterprise Architect
Warner Hotels is building an enterprise architecture function from the ground up, and the Enterprise Architect is the hands-on technical engine of that function. With over 160 applications and services across the estate, a fragmented integration landscape, and no current architecture governance capability, there is significant and meaningful work to be done.

Reporting to the Head of Architecture & Applications, the Enterprise Architect will own the definition and maintenance of Warner's target architecture — covering application, integration, data, and infrastructure layers. This is a practitioner role: you will produce architecture artefacts, lead technology assessments, conduct architecture reviews, and govern integration patterns across the estate.
You will work closely with engineering teams, application managers, and external partners to ensure that every significant technology decision is aligned to the target state — and that the architecture function becomes a trusted and value-adding capability within Warner's technology team.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture Definition & Governance
- Own and maintain Warner's enterprise architecture artefacts — including the application landscape map, integration diagram, data flow documentation, and technology standards.
- Define and evolve architecture principles, patterns, and guardrails that guide technology decisions across all domains.
- Lead architecture reviews for all significant change initiatives, assessing alignment to target state and identifying risk.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Integration Architecture
- Own the integration architecture — designing and governing the move from point-to-point integrations toward an API-first, event-driven model.
- Assess and rationalise the current integration landscape, identifying technical debt and consolidation opportunities.
- Define API governance standards and work with engineering teams to ensure compliance.
Application Portfolio Support
- Support the Head of Architecture & Applications in the application rationalisation programme — providing technical assessment of application fitness, duplication, and consolidation options.
- Assess vendor and platform roadmaps for strategic alignment with Warner's target architecture.
Technology Roadmapping
- Contribute to Warner's technology roadmap — translating architecture decisions into a sequenced, clearly articulated plan for stakeholders.
- Document and communicate architecture decisions through Architecture Decision Records (ADRs).
We're looking for the Enterprise Architect to have the following skills and experience
- Hands-On Architect: You produce architecture artefacts and lead reviews — not just frameworks and PowerPoints.
- Integration-Minded: You understand the mess that point-to-point integrations create and know how to design a way out.
- Clear Communicator: You can explain architecture decisions to non-technical stakeholders as clearly as to engineers.
- Collaborator: You work alongside engineers and delivery teams to embed standards — not police them from afar.
The Enterprise Architect will need to have significant experience within architecture roles, with proven experience in enterprise or solution architecture, demonstrable experience producing architecture artefacts in complex, multi-system estates and experience in integration architecture and API governance.
