We are looking for a Senior Enterprise Architect to support a Chief Controls function within a large financial services organisation. The role will contribute to shaping the prioritisation, evolution, and strategic direction of enterprise data platforms, with a particular focus on aligning the data platform landscape with wider technology strategy.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable operating at both a strategic and delivery level defining future-state architecture and architectural principles while remaining close enough to delivery teams to provide practical, hands-on guidance.
The role has a strong technology controls and governance focus, ensuring architecture, technology decisions, and platform changes align with governance frameworks, risk appetite, and regulatory obligations. This includes identifying and managing technology and architectural risks, embedding appropriate controls into solutions, and supporting the resolution of control gaps and issues.
A strong understanding of Enterprise Architecture frameworks, principles, standards, and governance is essential, alongside experience working within banking or other complex, regulated environments.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
