As technology specialists, we:

  • Provide knowledgeable resources who can implement, configure, and support the major platforms used by our clients.

Role Responsibilities

Alpha FMC is looking for an Enterprise Architect to join our growing team. We are seeking people with strong Front Office Technology skills, along with a personal desire to build a unique, world-class service offering for our clients. The Enterprise Architect presents a strategic perspective on investment technology choices and implementation decisions, leading teams of specialists to deliver technology change across the front office technology construct. They excel in providing SME guidance for front office technology solutions and associated operating models, working with key client stakeholders to maximize value delivery on time and on budget.

  • Define and lead delivery of enterprise-wide solutions on behalf of our clients, managing teams of experienced architects, developers, and technical consultants.
  • Partner with our clients to translate high-level business and technology goals into roadmaps, technology architecture, and operating models.
  • Present to senior or executive client audiences on content-rich topics, while also explaining industry challenges and complex content areas simply, developing understanding in others.
  • Support our clients in defining and delivering data, technology, and resource strategy to meet their business goals.
  • Use your knowledge of the vendor and tool landscape, both within our client’s technology stacks and the broader market to support the definition of the stack across technology and data.
  • Define and socialize architectural standards within Alpha and at our clients for your areas of expertise.
  • Input to project definition, resourcing, and timelines and objectives within large-scale or multiple projects.
  • Lead project team meetings and communicate effectively with internal and client peers, architects, system analysts, business analysts, project managers, quality control, and across other technology team boundaries, reporting project status as required.
  • Lead Alpha’s internal IP accelerator development, across multiple areas of expertise.
  • Take a lead in mentoring and coaching team members.

Role Requirements (Skills, Experience, and Qualifications):

  • 7+ years of experience in an implementation or product manager role for a leading front office technology, such as Blackrock Aladdin, Charles River IMS, Bloomberg AIM, Markit ThinkFolio, or FIS Front Arena.
  • Proficiency in SQL and database management, including experience with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, & AWS.
  • Expert understanding of data modelling, data governance, and data quality management.
  • Familiarity of portfolio management and trading processes in for asset managers/asset owners across equity, fixed income, and listed derivative products.
  • Specialist in two of the following areas (minimum 3 years’ experience): Risk & Performance, Compliance & Regulation, Client Reporting, Non-listed Derivatives Management, Investment Operations & Settlements, Investment Vehicle Setup & Structuring, Investment Data Management.
  • Deep experience of leading small to medium-sized teams in an implementation/consulting environment.
  • Willingness to travel when required.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and client relationship skills.
  • Entrepreneurial approach and commercial awareness.
  • Proven experience in building and delivering solutions.
  • Outstanding demonstrated verbal and written communication.
  • Specialist industry qualifications such as CFA, CAIA, FINRA Series 7, or equivalent is desirable.
  • Appreciation of regional business culture.

Compensation & Perks

The anticipated base salary for this role varies based on geographic location and is structured across three compensation zones. These zones reflect local market conditions and cost of labor. Geographic placement is determined by the employee’s primary work location.

Zone A | $196,000 – $239,400

Applies to candidates working in designated high-cost metropolitan areas, including: Los Angeles, CA; San Francisco, CA; Boston, MA; New York City, NY; and Washington, DC, as well as remote roles based in Massachusetts or the New York Tri-State Area.

Zone B | $178,000 – $216,600

Applies to candidates working in key metropolitan markets, including: Austin, TX; Atlanta, GA; Chicago, IL; Charlotte, NC; Denver, CO; and Philadelphia, PA, as well as remote roles based in Texas, California, Pennsylvania, Florida, or Colorado.

Zone C | $168,500 – $207,100

Applies to all other U.S. locations not listed above.

Toronto | CAD 216,500 - CAD 299,250

Applies to candidates working in the Toronto region

Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and work location. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for a discretionary bonus and a comprehensive benefits package. We are committed to equitable and transparent compensation practices across all locations.
