Job Description

Purpose of the Role

To develop, and evolve the bank's technology architecture through relevant solutions, strategies, and execution plans aligned to and prioritized by business and technology objectives, including the development, evolution, and adoption of foundational platforms and products.

Accountabilities

  • Development, Evolution, and Implementation: Develop, evolve, and implement the bank's technology architecture and strategies aligned to the business and technology objectives, unlocking execution and run.
  • Collaboration with Stakeholders: Collaborate with stakeholders, including Enterprise Architecture teams and other developers, to provide subject matter expertise and share knowledge to foster continuous improvement, and clients to understand and deliver on their technical needs.
  • Motivation and Leadership: Motivate and lead a diverse collection of technologists, business, and operations teams and enterprise leaders, with the goal to align business & technology strategy & standards, identifying opportunities, and connecting people.
  • Assessment of New Technologies: Assess new technologies to address current and future business needs, through a combination of curiosity and problem-solving skills.
  • Optimal Solutions: Determine the optimal solutions while balancing continuous requirements imposed by compliance, governance, security, and funding, through a deep understanding of the business and customer outcomes and maintaining a strong and steady grasp on the underlying technologies.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor and analyze the performance, resiliency, and stability of applications to identify and resolve issues and communicate and document key findings to stakeholders.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Comply with applicable regulatory standards and identify industry developments that may impact the bank's operations and controls to enhance the bank's application portfolio.
  • Community Support: Support engineering and architecture community initiatives to mentor team members, streamline operations, share, and grow knowledge.

Vice President Expectations

  • Strategy and Recommendations: Contribute or set strategy, drive requirements, and make recommendations for change. Plan resources, budgets, and policies; manage and maintain policies/processes; deliver continuous improvements and escalate breaches of policies/procedures.
  • Team Management: If managing a team, define jobs and responsibilities, planning for the department’s future needs and operations, counseling employees on performance, and contributing to employee pay decisions/changes. They may also lead a number of specialists to influence the operations of a department, in alignment with strategic as well as tactical priorities, while balancing short and long-term goals and ensuring that budgets and schedules meet corporate requirements.

  • Subject Matter Expertise: If an individual contributor, they will be a subject matter expert within their own discipline and will guide technical direction. They will lead collaborative, multi-year assignments and guide team members through structured assignments, identify the need for the inclusion of other areas of specialization to complete assignments. They will train, guide, and coach less experienced specialists and provide information affecting long-term profits, organizational risks, and strategic decisions.
  • Stakeholder Advising: Advise key stakeholders, including functional leadership teams and senior management on functional and cross-functional areas of impact and alignment.
  • Risk Management: Manage and mitigate risks through assessment, in support of the control and governance agenda. Demonstrate leadership and accountability for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work your team does.
  • Comprehensive Understanding: Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the organization's functions to contribute to achieving the goals of the business.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with other areas of work, for business-aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategies.
  • Analytical Thought: Create solutions based on sophisticated analytical thought comparing and selecting complex alternatives. In-depth analysis with interpretative thinking will be required to define problems and develop innovative solutions.
  • Research Outcomes: Adopt and include the outcomes of extensive research in problem-solving processes.
  • Relationships: Seek out, build, and maintain trusting relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders in order to accomplish key business objectives, using influencing and negotiating skills to achieve outcomes.

Join us as an Enterprise Architect, Marketing Technology, where you will shape the future of customer engagement and marketing capabilities across the organization.

  • Collaboration: Working closely with Managing Directors, business leaders, Product Owners, and technology teams, you will own and govern the architecture strategy for the Marketing domain, ensuring technology investments align with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and customer outcomes.
  • Strategic Roadmap: Define and drive the strategic roadmap for marketing technology, including customer data, personalization, and customer engagement capabilities, enabling the organization to deliver seamless, data-driven, and AI-enabled customer experiences at scale.
  • Domain Leadership: This is a highly visible domain leadership role requiring strong stakeholder management, strategic thinking, and the ability to influence senior executives across business and technology functions.

Essential Skills

To be successful as an Enterprise Architect-Marketing Technology, you must have the following essential skills:

  • Proven ability to translate business and marketing strategy into enterprise capabilities, technology roadmaps, and architecture outcomes.
  • Significant leadership and influencing skills, with experience engaging and partnering with senior executives and C-suite stakeholders.
  • Expertise in strategic planning, architecture governance, investment prioritization, and roadmap management.
  • Understanding of customer, marketing, and engagement ecosystems, including how data, analytics, and activation capabilities work together to create measurable business value.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex architectural concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Highly Valued Skills

  • Experience applying AI and machine learning within marketing, including personalization, customer decisioning, next best action, and customer engagement optimization.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of customer data architecture, customer data platforms (CDPs), marketing automation, digital marketing technologies, and customer insight platforms.
  • Experience within Financial Services or another highly regulated industry.
  • Knowledge of modern data, cloud, and integration architectures supporting real-time customer engagement and analytics.
  • Familiarity with privacy, consent, data governance, and customer data management principles.
