Role Overview

The Service Design Enterprise Architect is responsible for defining and governing enterprise-wide service architectures, operating models, and service design frameworks that align business objectives with technology capabilities. The role ensures that new and transformed services are scalable, secure, compliant, cost-effective, and operationally ready. The architect serves as the bridge between business strategy, enterprise architecture, service management, and delivery organizations, providing leadership for digital transformation, cloud adoption, service integration, mergers & acquisitions, and TSA-driven transition programs.

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Architecture & Strategy

  • Develop and maintain enterprise service architecture roadmaps aligned with business strategy.
  • Define target-state architecture covering business, application, data, technology, and service domains.
  • Establish architecture principles, standards, and governance frameworks.
  • Ensure alignment between enterprise architecture, service management, and operational objectives.
  • Provide technical and strategic guidance to executive stakeholders.

Service Design & Operating Model

  • Lead the creation of Service Design Packages (SDPs) for new and transitioned services.
  • Design enterprise service models across Infrastructure, Cloud, Workplace, Security, Network, Applications, and Digital Services.
  • Define service lifecycle processes aligned with ITIL and organizational standards.
  • Create target operating models encompassing people, process, technology, governance, and reporting.
  • Ensure service designs meet availability, capacity, continuity, security, compliance, and performance requirements.

Transformation & TSA Programs

  • Support mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and TSA transition initiatives.
  • Evaluate current-state environments and define future-state architectures.
  • Design service separation, integration, and transition strategies.
  • Identify dependencies, risks, and mitigation plans.
  • Lead TSA exit planning and operational readiness activities.

Service Integration & Governance

  • Establish SIAM and multi-vendor governance frameworks.
  • Define KPIs, SLAs, XLAs, operational metrics, and reporting structures.
  • Review architecture compliance and design quality across programs.
  • Support supplier onboarding, transition, and governance processes.
  • Drive continual service improvement initiatives.

Required Experience

Mandatory

  • 12+ years of IT and digital transformation experience.
  • 5+ years in Enterprise Architecture, Service Architecture, or Solution Architecture.
  • Strong expertise in ITIL v4 and Service Management.
  • Experience designing enterprise operating models and governance frameworks.
  • Experience with large-scale transformation, outsourcing, or managed services programs.
  • Knowledge of cloud architecture and hybrid environments.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and executive communication skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in TSA, M&A, carve-out, or separation programs.
  • SIAM implementation experience.
  • ServiceNow architecture knowledge.
  • Experience in regulated enterprise environments.
  • Global delivery and multi-vendor ecosystem experience.
