Enterprise Data Architect (Microsoft Fabric) | Global Consulting Firm | Contract

Robert Half is supporting a global risk consulting firm in the search for an Enterprise Data Architect to join as an Associate Consultant and deliver a key client engagement with a leading UK higher education organisation. This is an excellent opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping enterprise-wide data strategy, governance, and target-state architecture as part of a significant data transformation programme.

Contract Details

  • Consulting engagement delivered through a global risk consulting firm
  • 📍 Birmingham (2 days per week onsite)
  • 💰 Up to £800/day via Umbrella
  • 📅 Initial 3-month contract
  • 🚀 Immediate start preferred but c.1-2 weeks turnaround with interview and onboarding

The Role

Working closely with senior business and technology stakeholders, you will be responsible for defining and delivering enterprise data architecture capabilities, ensuring the organisation's data platform, governance, and operating model support future growth and analytics objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain enterprise data architecture standards and roadmap
  • Develop target-state data architecture and transformation strategy
  • Drive data governance, metadata, data quality, and master data capabilities
  • Provide architectural leadership across analytics and reporting initiatives
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to align data strategy with organisational objectives
  • Support the design and optimisation of modern cloud-based data platforms

Required Experience

  • Proven experience operating as an Enterprise Data Architect within large-scale transformation programmes
  • Strong background delivering enterprise data strategies and architecture roadmaps
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric is essential
  • Experience with Databricks is highly desirable
  • Strong understanding of data governance, data modelling, integration, and modern analytics architectures
  • Ability to influence and engage senior stakeholders across business and technology functions
