Hiring: Senior Data Architect, Financial Markets
Location: Burgess Hill / Brighton, UK (3 days per week in office, mandatory)
Experience: 10+ years
We are seeking an experienced Data Architect for a large-scale financial services transformation programme. You will document and architect enterprise data structures across relational and distributed NoSQL platforms, working closely with business and technology stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Document and analyse current-state and target-state data architectures for large financial systems
- Develop domain, conceptual, logical and physical data models
- Design scalable, high-performance solutions across Oracle, PostgreSQL, Cassandra and YugabyteDB
- Support enterprise data strategy, architecture governance reviews and migration planning
- Produce architecture documentation and present to technical and non-technical audiences
- Ensure implementations align with architectural guidelines, including performance, resiliency and disaster recovery

Required Skills
- 10+ years in data architecture and enterprise data modelling
- Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and CQRS implementation
- Deep expertise in relational design (Oracle, PostgreSQL)
- Hands-on experience with NoSQL and distributed databases (Cassandra, YugabyteDB)
- Strong knowledge of normalisation, denormalisation, data governance and enterprise integration
- Experience in financial services, capital markets, banking or trading environments
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Preferred Skills
- ER/Studio and Hackolade
- Google Cloud Spanner and cloud/hybrid data architectures
- Exposure to data governance and enterprise architecture frameworks
- Relevant architecture or financial industry certifications
