  • Netherlands salary range: €80,000 - €95,000
  • UK salary range: £65,000 - £80,000

Position Summary

Lead the evolution of our global data landscape from a fragmented, product-centric model to a scalable, integrated Enterprise Data Platform across the whole of Rainforest Alliance.

You will sit at the intersection of business strategy and technical execution, ensuring that all Rainforest Alliance data architecture directly fuels business value.

The Enterprise Data Platforms Senior Manager reports to the Director, Technical Operations.

What You Will Do

  • Strategic Roadmap: Define and lead the transition plan from legacy data services to a new, integrated Microsoft platform.
  • Workstream Identification: Deconstruct the overhaul into manageable workstreams (e.g., Data Migration, Governance, Integration, Analytics/BI, migration to the new platform of strategic systems, and sunset of legacy systems).
  • Stakeholder Management & Business Engagement: Navigate a complex global environment to align data consumers, Product Owners, IT teams, Information Security, and Business Unit heads.
  • Tech Stack Ownership & Delivery: Partner with Consultancy and Enterprise Architects to deliver, operate and improve on the new tech stack, ensuring it continues to meet global business requirements.
  • Support, Availability & Uptime:
    • Ensure that all components are monitored for capacity and performance, and that availability of systems exceed 99.99%
    • Own the definition, implementation and ongoing operation of the service and support wrapper for the entire data platform stack
    • Identify and deliver the appropriate staffing and support model (skills, hours of operations, escalation paths) to assure availability, resilience, supportability and recoverability
    • Validate and assure system resilience through geo-redundancy
    • Be a subject matter expert/focal point in supporting escalations relating to the current series of data services and tools
    • Ensure to optimise code execution with regular reviews to meet availability targets.
  • Culture and Skill Change: Identify and deliver the necessary skills, and lead on cultural change, through role-modelling, talent assessment, development planning and restructuring
  • Data Governance & Quality: Establish standards for data lineage and quality that ensure the "Single Source of Truth" remains truthful
  • Codebase Management: Experience with version control practices for data assets including branching strategies, pull request workflows, and repository management for data pipelines and configuration.
  • Ensure all data platform components, including pipelines, infrastructure, configurations are version controlled, with CI/CD processes governing environment promotion from development through to production.

What You Bring

  • Experience translating complex business problems into technical requirements and vice-versa
  • Deep familiarity and experience of design, configuration and operation of the Microsoft data ecosystem.
  • Working knowledge of platform components, including pipelines, infrastructure and configurations, CI/CD processes
  • Experience of environment management and promotion from development through to production
  • 10+ years in Data Engineering, Data Architecture, or IT Leadership, with experience of data platform transformation and migration
  • Experience overcoming change and risk-averse mindsets and mentalities
  • Deep familiarity with cloud data warehouses, ETL/ELT pipelines, application stacks, reporting tools, and data mesh/fabric concepts
